Live Longer Series.

Smoking Lowers Your Life Span.

I just want to begin with that if you smoke now then quit and if you don't smoke then don't start.

The Facts

The evidence is firmly in place; smoking kills more people than anything else. It damages almost every organ of the body. If you want to smoke or already do then you could live up to 10 years less than non smokers.

Exercise Increases Your Life Span.

Exercising is one of the most important things you can do to stay healthy and live longer. Bring exercise into your life to live up to 4 years longer than those who stay inactive. Many illnesses are connected to attitudes towards diet and exercise.

This shows that physical activity really does make a difference, not only to longevity but for how long you live a healthy and good quality life

Healthy Eating Habits Extend Life Span.

Many people take the health of their body for granted. For those wishing to live a healthy and prolonged life then this would mostly depend on what you digest into your body over your lifetime. We can all make changes to our lives to accommodate healthier eating habits.

What's the Best Diet for Losing Weight?

I firmly believe that there is no best diet for those wishing to lose weight.
Everyone is different and possesses a unique mental attitude and physical challenges.

How on earth could any fixed diet program come anywhere close to solving each individual problems and challenges?

Most diet programs only apply to certain people and wouldn't apply to most of us. Some diets only focus on actually losing weight initially, only to see that person yo-yo the weight back on again.

I will even suggest that some diets are bad for your health. It's not natural at all to starve yourself when you are feeling hungry or to enforce a strict diet of only certain types of foods. For your long term health these kinds of diets should be avoided.

Use Shiatsu to Prevent Illness.

Where Did Shiatsu Come From?

Shiatsu originated in Japan. There were many hands-on therapies called Teate before traditional Chinese therapies such as Acupuncture and Tuina (called Anma in Japan) were introduced to Japan.
The term Shiatsu might be first cited in a 1915 book, Tenpaku Tamai's Shiatsu.

In modern medicine, the course of treatment can only be decided after a diagnosis has been made. In Shiatsu therapy, practitioners promote the prevention and recovery of illnesses by stimulating the immune system and natural healing power that people already possess.

Healing Hands and the Benefits of the Thai Massage.

Thai massage (Nuad Boran) has numerous benefits for everyone. It is a physical therapy and passive yoga all in one.

Thai massage improves blood circulation, lymph and helps to improve problems associated with mobility. I have a massage once a week and it gives me such a feeling of wellbeing just to look forward to it. A 2 hour session is recommended and really does lift my spirit and leaves me with a great sense of happiness and wellbeing.

More and more doctors in Thailand now fully endorse Thai massage as a means of alleviating stress, stiffness, muscle pain and headaches. Some even say that it improves conditions such as circulatory, nervous, respiratory and digestive problems.

What Are You Made From?

Contaminated city water, un-purified well water, or sterilized bottle water. How often do you think about the kind of water you come into contact with. Water is our most important resource. Many health problems can be overcome by drinking suitable water.

Why I'm Giving Up Cow's Milk

The advantages of giving up milk can be quite complicated and technical, so I will mainly point out my best reasons to give up. I've mostly drunk chocolate-drink in the past, day or night and milk with cereal as a child. However, 3 years ago I developed symptoms relating to IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), ( inflammatory bowel syndrome) or Crohns disease and so on.

After many trips to the hospital here in Bangkok and a rather uncomfortable Endo-scopy and Colonoscopy I was told I have mild to severe Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome. Since starting my treatment on medicine those years ago, I've experienced multiple relapses that mostly occur each and every month. There aren't definite reasons or causes to acquire such a condition and I don't necessarily attribute it to dairy products but one could argue that it can be a cause. So this is my most important reason for giving up milk. I will of course be looking for a substitute and will write a post about that as my experiment very soon.

Choosing A Substitute For Human Milk.

This quote is from the US Department of Health and Human Services, Healthy People 2010.....

"Human milk is unique. Superior nutrients and beneficial substances found in human milk cannot be duplicated. Breastfeeding provides optimum health, nutritional, immunological and developmental benefits to children and protection from postpartum complications and future disease for mothers."

So, I'm going to examine the following substitutes for milk because I have given up drinking Cows Milk. From the substitutes below I'll be choosing one or two as a trial and see how it goes.
